Our story, our origins
Founded in 2016, FOLC is an independent eyewear brand based in Barcelona, specializing in the creation of contemporary optical and sunglasses collections with a distinctive style and strong personality. When product designer and founder Marta Llinarès launched the brand in 2016, she set out to create collections guided by her own vision and values, with complete creative freedom.
FOLC is dedicated to those individuals that are fascinated by high quality product design, exceptional craftsmanship pieces and the stories behind the objects they wear. From the beginning, the brand has been committed to working as locally and responsibly as possible. With design as the driving force behind every collection, FOLC creates eyewear in the most ethical way possible, prioritizing quality, craftsmanship and proximity throughout the entire process.
Today, FOLC eyewear is present in more than 20 countries and can be found in some of the world's most unique and design-led optical boutiques.

Our studio in Poblenou
Since the beginning, FOLC has been based in different locations in Poblenou, our home. Once Barcelona's industrial district and now one of its most creative neighbourhoods, Poblenou embodies the balance between heritage and contemporary design that inspires our work.
Its unique contrasts, between old factories and contemporary architecture, craftsmanship and innovation, the city and the sea—have become part of FOLC's identity. They shape the way we approach design, creating collections that balance timeless character with a contemporary perspective.
Being part of this creative community also allows us to work closely with local artists, photographers and companies who share our values. These collaborations strengthen our commitment to proximity, craftsmanship and thoughtful design, while keeping the creative process rooted in the neighbourhood that has inspired us from the very beginning
